RECON (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated by Innavera. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our AI-powered business intelligence platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Business data: Information about your project that you provide through our platform, including company details, market data, financial projections, and other business documentation.
- Usage data: How you interact with our platform, including pages visited, features used, documents generated, and session duration.
- Payment information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the RECON platform, including generating AI-powered business documents, market analyses, and strategic recommendations.
- Improve and develop new features based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
- Communicate with you about your account, your trial and subscription, and service updates, and respond to support requests. We also send getting-started emails in your first week and a weekly review of your projects. Each of those has an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing does not stop account and billing emails, which we send for as long as you have an account.
- Process payments and manage your subscription.
3. Data Storage and Security
We take the security of your data seriously. Data is encrypted in transit, and our application and database are hosted on secure servers in Europe with appropriate physical and technical safeguards.
Some of the services listed in section 5 process data outside Europe, including in the United States: our product analytics provider (PostHog, US region), Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies), Google Ads (only if you accept all cookies), Meta and LinkedIn (only if you accept all cookies), and the AI providers that generate documents and analyses. Where data is transferred internationally, it is handled under those providers' data protection terms.
Your business data is stored in isolated database records associated with your account. We implement access controls and monitoring to protect against unauthorized access.
4. Your Data Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all personal and business data we hold about you.
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time through your account settings. Your account and project data are permanently removed within 30 days. Stripe keeps the payment records it is required by law to keep.
- Export your generated documents and business data in standard formats.
- Correct any inaccurate personal information in your account settings.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate our platform:
- AI providers (through OpenRouter: Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and Perplexity): Your business data, and public information about the companies and markets you research, may be sent to these providers to generate documents, analyses and answers. They process it to provide the service under their own terms and privacy policies.
- PostHog (product analytics, US region): Records how the platform is used, such as pages viewed, features used and sign-up steps, so we can improve it. Before you accept analytics cookies it stores nothing in your browser. We do not send it your email address or the content of your projects.
- Google Analytics: Measures website traffic and which campaigns bring visitors. It is only loaded if you accept analytics cookies, and its advertising features stay off unless you accept all cookies. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Ads (advertising): Tells us which of our Google ads led to a visit, a sign-up or a purchase. It loads only if you accept all cookies; until then nothing is sent to Google Ads. Once you accept, it uses advertising cookies and lets us show our ads to people who have visited RECON. We do not send it your email address or anything from your projects. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Meta and LinkedIn (advertising): Tell us which of our ads led to a visit, a sign-up or a purchase, and let us show our ads to people who have visited RECON. They are only loaded if you accept all cookies. They are told which pages you view and when you sign up or buy a plan; we do not send them your email address or anything from your projects. See the privacy policies of Meta and LinkedIn.
- Sentry (error monitoring): Receives technical details when something goes wrong in the app, so we can fix it.
- Resend: Delivers our emails: account emails (such as email verification, password resets and project invitations), billing notices about your trial and subscription, getting-started emails in your first week, and the weekly review of your projects.
- Stripe: Handles payment processing securely. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
6. Cookies
Necessary cookies are always on, because the platform does not work without them:
- Authentication: to keep you securely signed in.
- Preferences: to remember your language and your cookie choice.
Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner:
- Google Analytics (
_gacookies), to measure website traffic. - PostHog, to recognise a returning visitor in our product analytics.
- Campaign source (
recon-attr), our own cookie that remembers which link or campaign first brought you to RECON, so we know which of our campaigns work.
Advertising cookies are only set if you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner:
- Google Ads, to measure which of our Google ads lead to sign-ups and purchases.
- Meta Pixel (
_fbp), to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show them to past visitors. - LinkedIn Insight Tag, to measure our LinkedIn ads and show them to past visitors.
You can change your choice at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of our website.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on our platform. Your continued use of RECON after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
8. Contact Us
